Only 10 days have passed since the start and some tennis players have credited their accounts with very interesting amounts. By far the richest tennis player in recent months is American Taylor Fritz, who won the United States United Cup last week. And how much did the Czech women earn?

Right at the beginning of the year, some players have very busy schedules. There were various exhibitions, and before the end of last year, the premiere edition of the United Cup started. The main stage of the Australian Open will start soon.

Only ten days have passed since the start of the new year and the journalists, together with the ATP and WTA organisations, have published how much the tennis players have earned since the start of the new season.

And the amounts are very interesting indeed. In the women’s rankings, the Czechs Petra Kvitova and Linda Noskova are in great shape and their prize money is also in line with that.

The prize money is very much influenced by the participation in the United Cup, whereupon, as you can see from the ranking, the organizer paid the big stars really generously.

Fritz leads the men’s

Leading the men’s standings is currently the ninth player in the world, Taylor Fritz, who is having the best months of his career. He won three titles last season, including a victory at the Indian Wells Masters. In addition, he also played in the Tournament of Champions.

And he’s showing his form in the new season. He celebrated his title with the Americans at the United Cup, where he was one of the mainstays of his team. He also managed to dominate an exhibition in Saudi Arabia before that tournament.

All in all, Fritz had earned a handsome 765,760 dollars by the ninth of January, which translates to over 17 million crowns. Just for comparison, the second Frances Tiafoe, his compatriot and teammate, earned “only” 11.8 million crowns.

Another United Cup finalist, Stefanos Tsitsipas of Greece, is also on the list, earning a handsome 11.75 million crowns. Rafael Nadal, who did not advance out of the group with Spain, earned less than 4.5 million crowns.

But the table offers one more comparison. Tallon Griekspoor and Novak Djokovic, the winners of the tournaments in Pune and Adelaide respectively, only pocketed prize money worth around 2 million crowns.

The women also came into their own

Long gone are the days when men earned many times more money than women in tennis. They have also earned interesting rewards. The American Jessica Pegula, who, alongside Fritz, led the American team to victory at the United Cup, earned the most.

The world number three earned 523,650 dollars, which translates to almost 11.8 million crowns. Also in the elite three is another finalist, Maria Sakkari of Greece, who took home approximately 8.8 million crowns.

And you can’t miss Iga Swiatek either. The world number one did not win the United Cup with Poland, but still took home a decent prize money of CZK 8.6 million.

Kvitova also made it into the top 10. She won both of her singles matches at the United Cup and is also playing in good form at the Adelaide tournament. Kvitova was able to earn just over CZK 4 million after representing the Czech Republic in the tournament.

Another member of the Czech team, Marie Bouzkova, also made CZK 1.8 million. Noskova, who was the comet of the first tournament in Adelaide, earned over 1.5 million for her great performance.

Of course, it should be noted that all prize money is shown tax-free. So the tennis players will not receive the full amount. But some will get more money through sponsorship deals.
