Jokic recorded his 15th triple-double of the season
In the Denver Nuggets vs. Portland Blazers game (120:108), two-time MVP Nikola Jokic shined again. He scored a total of 27 points in the game and excelled in rebounding with 22 rebounds. He also dished out 12 assists to his teammates.
This is his 15th triple-double of the season, again two ahead of the second man in the standings, Domantas Sabonis. In total, Jokic notched his 120th career triple-double. He continues to close the gap on the third man on the historical charts, Magic Johnson, who stopped at number 138.
Jokic returned in style after a one-game layoff and Denver is the third-best team in the Western Conference with 34 wins. In addition, the team’s traditional second-leading scorer Jamal Murray, who scored just 13 points, also attacked the triple-double mark, which he missed by just one rebound.
After another 15-34 defeat, Portland can slowly say goodbye to their playoff hopes. Portland’s failure was only confirmed by the fact that the team’s best player was bench man Scott Henderson, who scored 30 points.
Trae Young led Atlanta to a win over a strong Phoenix
The Atlanta Hawks vs Phoenix Suns (129:120) game was pretty evenly matched. On Atlanta’s side, the trio of Youg, Murray, Bogdanovic outplayed the Suns’ star duo of Devin Booker, Kevin Durant this time. Trae Young traditionally scored double digits in points and assists.
Young had 32 points and 15 final assists this time around, but he had strong support in Dejounte Murray and Bogdan Bogdanovic, who contributed another 45 points netted in the Phoenix basket. However, on the Suns side, Kevin Durant did what he could. He scored 35 points, 8 rebounds and 8 assists. Devin Booker scored another 24 points.
However, the Atlanta team maintained a slight lead on the home floor for almost the entire game and scored a very valuable win. However, they are still outside the playoffs with a 21-27 record, while the Phoenix team is still advancing comfortably with a 28-21 record.
