The 10th round of the Premier League will be played this weekend, featuring Liverpool and Manchester City among others. First Arsenal play Leeds in Yorkshire, what other teams from the big six to watch?
Liverpool vs. Manchester City
The showpiece of the round is clear, despite the terrible form of the home side. Liverpool v Manchester City tend to be regularly the best games of the season, although this time it will be a clash of tenth against second. Both clubs need to win though.
The Citizens finally want to get to the top of the table ahead of Arsenal, the Reds on the other hand need to break a run of three games without a win.
Erling Haaland’s form doesn’t need to be discussed at length, Mohamed Salah tuned up for the battle with a hat-trick against Rangers. Which of the superstars will celebrate?
Manchester United vs. Newcastle
Newcastle got into the results mood a few rounds later than expected, yet they are already sixth.
Fifth-placed Manchester United has a game to spare and a point more, plus four of its five wins have come by a single goal difference.
On the home side, summer signing Anthony is thriving, Bruno Guimaraes is starting for the visitors and Kieran Trippier is also playing well. Given United’s defensive problems, fans may be looking forward to a goal shootout.
Wolverhampton vs. Nottingham
Few expected this game to be a battle for the unrelegated 17th place in the 10th round. Wolves have a quality core and have brought in the likes of Diego Costa and Matheus Luiz, while Nottingham have strengthened the most in the league.
The two teams are very similar, with Wolves having only one point more. Nottingham are struggling despite a quality squad on paper, Wolverhampton have met with a lot of bad luck in their last two games. The home team is the favourite, but the visitors also need a win.
