The Fortuna League has its 25th round on the schedule this weekend. After the national team break, we can look forward to matches between Sparta and Brno, Slavia and Sigma, or a rescue duel between Jablonec and Pardubice.
Sparta Prague vs. Zbrojovka Brno
A duel between the team with the best current form in the league and a team that is currently struggling and dangerously close to the relegation zone.
Sparta won their last 7 matches with a score of 25:6 and returned to the title fight. Zbrojovka, on the other hand, after a promising autumn, did not catch the beginning of spring. It won only one of eight matches, drew four times and lost three times.
Moreover, the Leten players are happy to shoot against Zbrojovka. They have scored 4, 6 and 4 goals in the last three games. Brno can be expected to fish a few goals out of the net again.
Slavia Prague vs. Sigma Olomouc
Slavia will welcome Sigma Olomouc to Eden on Saturday night and they are certainly not going to have an easy time of it. Although they are 100% at home and have won all 12 games, they have to make up for their loss to Liberec.
Sigma are keen on sharing points, have collected the second highest number of draws in the league (9) and have drawn six of their eight spring games. Slavia is undefeated at home, but lately they have been deciding games in the second half.
In the last four games, the Susians have not led at half-time, not even once in the spring. With Baník in the autumn it was a 0:0 draw at the break, in the three spring matches it was 1:1 with Jablonec, a goalless draw with Brno and in the duel with Plzeň the visitors even led.
So we can believe that Sigma will not lose at half-time in Eden. Olomouc will rely on a solid defensive unit and the Susians will have to break the game again in the second half thanks to substitute players.
FK Jablonec vs. FK Pardubice
Finally, let’s take a look at one rescue duel. Jablonec has climbed up to ninth place in the table thanks to three wins in a row, but the table is so even that it is 13th. Baník is only four points ahead. It is easy to say that Jablonec is still playing for salvation.
Pardubice is definitely the same. They have had a big spring boost after being almost written off after the autumn. Out of 24 possible points, they won exactly half and moved from last place to 14th, leaving Zlín and Teplice behind.
However, Jablonec will probably be above their strength, especially on home soil. David Horejs seems to have finally found a recipe to get his strong squad out of the bottom of the table and the Green and Whites have celebrated four times in their last five games, falling short only to Sparta. Jablonec adds a fourth win in a row.
