Manchester City responded victoriously to losing three points from last week. Norwich didn’t stink on its turf and leave with a five-goal lead. With a score of 0: 8, they remain clearly last, but on the other hand, they have a tough draw to start the season.

The goal came from the first chance of the game, Gabriel Jesus’ centre found Ferran Torres and with the help of Grant Hanley’s run he pushed it into the net. And in the 15th minute, the Spanish international celebrated for the second time, but this time his shot could not stand due to a foul by Bernardo Silva.

Citizens’ productivity was admirable, in the 22nd minute Jack Grealish was lucky to get the ball into the net after a centre from the right. The home side continued to dominate the rest of the first half, but never got any more chances. The score was 2:0.

Rodri opened the second half with a shot that didn’t find the back of the net. In the 55th minute, the active Jesus tried his hand, but he didn’t threaten Tim Krul either. In the 64th minute, the blue and white crowd celebrated. After a corner kick, the ball deflected to Aymerick Laporta, who sent it into the net.

Seven minutes later, Jesus completed his hat-trick of assists. His third and again almost identical pass found Raheem Sterling and he had an easy job. Manchester’s fifth goal was set up by a beautiful pass behind the defence by Ruben Dias, Riyad Mahrez only heading towards the far post.

Pep Guardiola’s charges won 5-0 in the second round and made up for the loss to Tottenham, the newcomer from the small town is still waiting for his first points.
