On Saturday, the second half of matches at the US Open, the last Grand Slam tournament of the current season, will be played. Ons Jabeur takes on Maria Bouzkova, who will be happy with the win?
Ons Jabeur is a twenty-nine-year-old tennis player from Tunisia. She is currently ranked fifth in the WTA rankings, with her career high being the second position from last June.
However, she is still waiting for her first Grand Slam trophy. The last time she had the opportunity was in July at Wimbledon, where she lost to Markéta Vondroušová in the final after 4:6 and 4:6 sets.
She has not yet performed optimally at the US Open. She lost her serve six times against Osorio, and the duel with Linda Noskova had to be decided in the third set. The talented Czech tennis player was already leading 3:2, but then she couldn’t win a single game.
Marie Bouzkova is currently ranked 31st in the WTA rankings. The twenty-five-year-old native of Prague boasts very consistent performances, but she is still waiting for her first trophy in the current year.
A year ago, Bouzková dropped out of the US Open in the second round when she lost to her compatriot Karolina Pliskova after 3:6 and 2:6 sets.
Bouzkova made it to the last 16 without losing a single set. First, she successfully defeated Krueger and then she won the scalp of Marticova. In the second round, she showed a dominant performance, losing her serve only once.
Jabeur won the only previous encounter between the two (3:6, 6:1 and 6:1 at Wimbledon a year ago). We can also expect an even match on Saturday, given her experience I favour the Tunisian player.
Betting tip | Jabeur will win at odds of 1.71
