Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Renato Sanches is very close to a move to AS Roma, according to Italian media reports. The current speculation is about a guest appearance with an option for a permanent transfer, which should be around €12-13 million.
AS Roma, especially its current coach Jose Mourinho, has been interested in Renato Sanches for a long time.
For example, AC Milan were also interested in the 25-year-old Lisbon native last year, but Sanches eventually moved from Lille to Paris.
According to the latest reports, the Giallorossi are very close to acquiring him anyway. The Football Italia server cites information from the well-known La Gazzetta dello Sport newspaper, according to which the Romans are hoping for a guest appearance with an option for a permanent transfer.
Moreover, the player himself has reportedly already agreed to a transfer to AS, so a salary of €5.5 million would remain with Paris Saint-Germain.
It should be added, the Gazzetta also reports that Arsenal’s Albert Sambi Lokonga has also been offered to the Roman outfit to sign. However, the Giallorossi prefer Sanches and the Gunners midfielder decided not to sign.
If the transfer goes through, Sanches would be their second signing from the French Ligue 1 side. Earlier in the transfer window, they acquired Houssem Aouar from Olympique Lyon.
Sanches at PSG…
As we wrote above, the 25-year-old Portuguese transferred to Paris Saint-Germain last August for €15 million.
However, he hasn’t impressed as much in the French big club’s jersey as he probably would have liked. He scored only two goals in 27 games, often came off the bench and injuries also complicated his engagement.
