Is Eriksen waiting for a big signing? He could play with Ronaldo, a spectacular comeback is in the cards
Christian Eriksen will officially become a free agent in a few days and there is a lot of interest in his services. After a short stint at Brentford, where he proved he still has the chops for top-flight football, he could find himself at a big club again.
Christian Eriksen will officially become a free agent in a few days and there is a lot of interest in his services. After a short stint at Brentford, where he proved he still has the chops for top-flight football, he could find himself at a big club again.
For a while it looked like Christian Eriksen would never take the field as a professional footballer again. But he has done the almost impossible. What’s more, he has exceeded all expectations, as he has played himself into great form at Brentford.
In 11 games for the humble English side, he managed to score one goal and add four assists. WhoScored gave him an excellent average rating of 7.37. He has been voted player of the match three times.
Brentford understandably wanted to keep the Danish footballer, however, the short-term contract expires at the end of June and the possibilities of getting a player of similar calibre for free is understandably a temptation for many bigger clubs.
Manchester United, for example, are interested in him as they look to strengthen their midfield. However, Erik ten Hag is not the only man interested in the former Inter Milan, Tottenham and Ajax Amsterdam player.
Newcastle and Tottenham have also already had talks with Eriksen’s representatives. Moreover, it is questionable whether Eriksen will want to go to Old Trafford. The club has already turned down a move to Italy in 2019 due to interest.
Eriksen is still only 30 years old, so he still has a few years of his career ahead of him and this is understandably great news. It is a spectacular and truly inspiring story.
