Mbappé faces criticism again! Three years ago he was the best in the world, now he’s just a shadow of that player, the former Marseille star makes clear
Until recently, Kylian Mbappé was considered a huge talent, but at 22 years old, the demands of not only the coaches, but the entire football public, who do not forgive any deterioration, are understandably growing. The former Marseille star has now come in for criticism.
Until recently, Kylian Mbappé was considered a huge talent, but at 22 years old, the demands of not only the coaches, but the entire football public, who do not forgive any deterioration, are understandably growing. The former Marseille star has now come in for criticism.
Kylian Mbappé has come into adult football like big water. Immediately he was written about as a man with the potential to become the best player in the world. But time flies and imperfection is unforgivable.
After the Euros, the French gem received huge criticism after France failed to perform properly at the championship and Mbappé failed to score a single goal. He’s shooting well in a PSG jersey, yet some still see the flaws.
“When I remember how he played in 2018, when he contributed to winning the World Cup, he has taken a step back in the last three years. Back then he was electrifying, devastating, the best in the world,” expressed Tony Cascarino, the former Marseille star.
“I was disappointed with his performances at the Euros. His impact on the Franca game was nowhere near that. We may occasionally see a glimpse of how he used to play three years ago, but it’s not enough,” added the 90-times Ireland international.
Last season, Mbappé was criticised for his style of play despite his excellent productivity. This is clearly based on speed, which is understandably impossible to sustain for the rest of his career.
Several figures in French football have tried to get the 22-year-old offensive star to learn to play more all-round.
